The Animated Series' Showrunner Is Aware of Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The highly-awaited Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been rampant.

Season 1 presents a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other with songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will Angel Dust break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands as the main goal," the creator stated recently. "But I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which produce the series.

That could imply fans have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how much of what they're anticipating unfolds now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

She's certainly aware of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — especially in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've come across a few fans create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on October 29.
